Contributor Max has been AWOL, but we're delighted to have him back and his report from the NFC Championship game:

NFC Championship Game Report
Philadelphia Eagles @ Arizona Cardinals

By Max

Hello PCB Readers!

I am the long lost Arizona contributor. (perhaps if I regain consistency with the contributions I might be considered a correspondent again.) I'm sure after going missing for months, many people wondered if they'd ever be hearing from me again. Or if everything is OK for me.

The answer, we Arizona Cardinals fans are doing awesome, and I've been at all the games. Residents of AZ who have never paid attention to this team have never been so proud. Metropolitan Phoenix has always been an NFL town but never with any team to cheer for. And true in 1988 when the team arrived from St Louis, they were a sell-out. But being the bottom-dwellers for nearly two decades, apathy and shame would be describe the fan base of the team. I cannot claim that I suffered a long time personally. I grew up in Wisconsin and the cheese is what boils my blood. As a Valley resident since 2004 and as a 4 year season ticket holder, I can tell you that it has been a total joy to experience this year's playoffs. And absolutely, the last team dancing this season is the Arizona Cardinals Cheerleaders.

OK. Really, I understand my audience on the Pro Cheerleader Blog are cheerleaders and enthusiasts, maybe a few sports fans. Over the last few years, the Arizona Cardinals Cheerleaders have had a dream run for any cheerleader. From a international home game in Mexico City, Chinese New Years parade in Hong Kong, host team for last years Super Bowl. Each year provided a new greater adventure. So I am sure only in the wildest dreams of our pom sweethearts, anyone had expected they would be on the sidelines of a Super Bowl cheering the Arizona Cardinals! I have regrets to many of the ACC girls who retired too soon, I wish you could be in Tampa this weekend. Unfortunately most of us wont be there, but we wont forget that you were there cheering this team during the good and the bad before the Phoenix ascended to the national stage.

So going into Super Bowl Sunday 2009. Good Luck Arizona Cardinals. May Larry Fitzgerald single-handedly win another game. May the Kurt Warner turnover machine not dispense any freebies to the Steel Curtain. And may the Cardinal Defense play makers capture our imagination once again. Arizona Cardinals Cheerleaders - you'll be seen by billions of international spectators with the best seats in the house!

Side note: Regards to Carolina Rick that AZ had to put an end to the Panthers season. First, you have already enjoyed a SB appearance. Second, losing in the playoffs does not diminish a wonderful season!
