From The Kansas City Star
A bright spot in a dismal Chiefs season? Consider Catherine Friends-Middleton, a Pro Bowl-bound cheerleader who doubles as a Johnson County public health nurse in Olathe.
“I’m on cloud nine I was chosen,” said the 30-year-old second-generation cheerleader, whose mother, Connie Friends, was a Kansas City Chiefette from 1970 to 1974.
On Feb. 8, Friends-Middleton will dance and lead cheers during the 2009 Pro Bowl at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, featuring the best players in the National Football League. Chiefs tight end Tony Gonzalez and guard Brian Waters will be there, too.
