Each year, a few lucky ladies are selected as rookies to be a part of the Minnesota Vikings Cheerleaders. This year there are nine first-year cheerleaders, and we have been having the time of our lives with all the incredible new experiences and opportunities. Here are a few fun and interesting facts to help you get to know the new faces on the team:

Ashley from White Bear Lake was a competitive gymnast for seven years. She received statewide honors and still loves to tumble. You can see her skills showcased as we perform SKOL in the end zones!

Jenny from Corcoran grew up on a dairy farm and showed dairy cattle through 4-H. Her cow Molly won grand champion 4 times! She was also runner up for Princess Kay of the Milky Way and got her head carved out of butter at the State Fair.

Gina from Maple Grove was a member of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders last year. She was also a three-time national college dance champion while she was a member of the University of Minnesota dance team.

Andrea from Willmar loves to travel and spent time in college studying French in
Martinique. She also traveled all around France and has been to Rome.

Jenna from North St. Paul hopes to travel to Africa on a mission trip within the next few years. She is obsessed with the color lime green, and in her spare time she likes going up to her cabin and spending time tubing and snowmobiling.

Shannon from Andover was a member of the University of Minnesota dance team and won three national titles from 2004-2006. After graduating she continued her dance education by living in Los Angeles and taking classes from top professionals.

Marta from Stillwater studied classical Russian ballet for ten years. She plans to become an orthopedic surgeon and loves spending time relaxing at the beach and watching movies.

Annalisa from Tomah, WI ran her first half marathon this year. She enjoys snowboarding and fishing. She spent a May term abroad in Italy, and got married last October. Annalisa has a six year old sister and a brother who is a senior in high school.

And I’m Lily, from Prescott, WI. I love watching the food network channel, especially during the holidays! I also enjoy spending time with my family up north on Ten Mile Lake. I won eight state championship titles along with my high school dance team in the pom and jazz divisions.

All of us rookies are so excited to be a part of the Minnesota Vikings game day experience and contributing to home field advantage! Go Vikes!
