Eagles Cheerleaders Tackle Breast Cancer

Posted by James at 12:43 PM ET

LogoSure Cheerleader performances at fun, and it's great seeing them on the sidelines at games. But this post helps to higlight two of my favorite reasons for doing this blog: Spotlighting all the great work Cheerleaders do to support worthy causes and the diverse backrounds of careers and college majors they represent.

The Philadelphia Eagles & Thomas Jefferson University Hospital teamed up for a Tackling Breast Cancer Event at King of Prussia Mall on Thursday. Eagles players, cheerleaders and SWOOP, the Eagles mascot were all on hand to meet fans and raise awareness about breast cancer. Tackling Breast Cancer merchandise was on sale and fans who purchase the pink merchandise or make a donation to Tackling Breast Cancer at the King of Prussia Mall will be able to receive an autographs.

Two-year veteran Ashley and three-year veteran Victoria. Victoria wanted to know when the new blog will be ready. I think I promised her it will be up by Thanksgiving, so now the pressure is on.

Two-year veteran Maria graduated from the University of the Arts with a degree in Jazz Dance Performance. She was accepted to graduate school, but deferred enrolling for a year.

Eagles Cheerleaders
Rookie Kim is a graduate of Penn State's Landscape Architecture Program. Clients she has worked for include the Philadelphia School District and Arcadia University.

Eagles Cheerleaders
Paige is a Sophomore at West Chester University where she is studying Forensics and Toxicological Sciences. She hopes to become a Crime Scene Investigator.

Eagles Cheerleaders
Danni-Lynn a senior at West Chester University(!) is majoring in Fashion Merchandising. She works for a clothing company now, and would like a career as a buyer.

Victoria has degrees in Dance and Business and now works as a Construction Estimator. And what does a Construction Estimator do?

As she explained it ABC Realty Trust Co. will decide to construct a building. They come to Victoria's employer to get a cost on the building. Victoria goes out to subcontractors, electricians, plumber etc. to get prices. She then assembles it all and comes up with an absolute maximum price. She learned the business as an intern with the company while she was a student at Temple.

And despite all the news you hear about a slowing economy and cutbacks in construction, Victoria says she is quite busy.

Eagles Cheerleaders
Ashley is a Math Education major at West Chester University. Her ideal job is to be a high school math teacher as well as the high school's cheerleading coach.
