Cheerleaders Participate In High Heel Hike
"At some point you have to say, 'No. Not today. It’s not going to happen today.' We’ve got to turn it around."
* High Heel Hike Photo Album *
This quote said by Dolphins Head Coach Tony Sparano was presented to me at our Friday morning staff meeting by Miami Dolphins President Bryan Wiedmeier. It stayed with me the next morning during the Young Survival Coalition's High Heel Hike in Ft Lauderdale.
Action, Advocacy and Awareness is the YSC's mission to address breast cancer concerns for young women ages 20-45. Coach Sparano's quote truly encapsulates my feelings towards this fight against breast cancer. This is an uphill climb we have in front of us, but with events like the "High Heel Hike", every step we take moves us in the right direction in finding a cure, and what better way to do it than with the Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders leading the way with our pink pom poms! Every "swag bag" given to each of the pink participants included a team photo that the girls signed throughout the event with their pink sharpies.
The crowd and I loved seeing the entire squad there representing the Miami Dolphins with our combined efforts to spread awareness. Our "New Beginning" with the Miami Dolphins does not stop on the field but it continues on to help support and represent every part of this organization in efforts within our communities and the causes we fight for.
It was a honor to join the Miami Dolphin Cheerleaders in leading this 1K "strut" in our best high heels to "Kiss Breast Cancer Goodbye."
