The NBA’s Oklahoma City Thunder is holding auditions to narrow down its dance team.

About 200 women auditioned for between 16 and 20 slots on the squad.

Dance team manager Sabrina Ellison said she knows what she is looking for.

“Someone that has dance experience and poise and shines,” she said. “Someone that is really going to get our fans excited about the dances that are out there and get their spirits up when we are at the game.”

After two cuts on Sunday, about 50 women are a step closer to becoming finalists.

“There is so much talent here right now. The girls are just so beautiful,” said auditioner Brittany Wade. “It is just so fun to watch. The choreography is great.”

NBA team dancers promote spirit, meet with fans and take part in promotional events during the season.

“This is the first pro team out here in Oklahoma City and they just want to make it and make their dreams realized,” said Ellison.

The group that survived Sunday’s cutdowns advanced to the interview portion of the competition on Wednesday.

On Thursday, the public can get a sneak peek at more auditions at Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar and Grill.

And yes, Sonics/Thunder Dance Team Manager Sabrina made the move from Seattle to Oklahoma City.

Sabrina is a former Seattle Sea Gal. In 2002 she was the SF 49ers Gold Rush Pro Bowl Representative. During her time with the Gold Rush she helped to establish the Czech Republic's first Dance Team
