Hot, Sweaty Charger Girls! – NFL Kickoff Weekend
Well, that’s certainly a better headline that what I was going to go with…”Chargers Fumble, Bumble, and Stumble Way to Loss”. It was a rather hot day in San Diego with temperatures in the low 90’s and lots of sunshine. The Carolina Panthers came to town with their star receiver, Steve Smith, serving a two game suspension for punching out fellow teammate Ken Lucas. Oh well, thems the breaks, ones that the Chargers were sure to exploit…or did they? In what was a supposed to be an easy win, the Chargers shocked the Panthers by playing lethargic on offense and uncharacteristically soft on defense. Giving up a game winning touchdown pass on the last play of the game, the Chargers snatched defeat from the jaws of victory, 26 - 24. Yes, it was that ugly. U-G-L-Y!
But, enough about football. Our loyal blog supporters come here to read about beautiful and vivacious cheerleaders, not sweaty football players. So, here we go with this week’s sampling of absolutely fabulous Charger Girls.

This week, I am introducing a new feature – the Charger Girl of the Day. Every Charger Girl is special, but this award goes to the most photogenic Charger Girl of the day…okay, it’s really my favorite Charger Girl photograph from the day’s festivities. This week’s CGOTD is…Rookie Charger Girl Breann.

And now let’s turn our attention to the Line Captains…only three this week. Sorry Katrina. As is my custom, I left Qualcomm shortly after the fourth quarter started. Living two hours away has its disadvantages and I didn’t want to spend another two hours waiting to exit the parking lot. So, let us enjoy Rebecca, Summer, and Constance doing what they do best…cheering on the Chargers.

As a general rule, I try not to get too personally involved with the Charger Girls, not that I am able to…being a happily married man. I usually scan the squad’s bio pages to garner an interesting tidbit of information to spice up my reports. To my surprise, I noticed that we have another former USC Song Girl on the squad, Nicole M. I only mention this because she looks entirely different than from back in the day, more glamorous, sexy, and, honestly, more womanly. And she’s an accomplished dancer too.

Kylette, New Mexico’s hottest export, is a former NBA D-League Thunderbird cheerleader. She’s also one of the most photogenic Charger Girls out there.

Giselle is originally from Panama and is a Texas Longhorn. Hook ‘em, horns!

And the photogenic Jennifer hails from Napa Valley and aspires to master the art of French cuisine.

Ashley, a fifth year veteran Charger Girl, is a former competitive gymnast and she’s currently a personal trainer.

Here’s Jacquelyn, proud USC graduate, basking in the hot, Southern Californian sun. Blonde and beautiful, we can add very tanned to the list of superlatives after Sunday’s scorcher.

Jill Ann is originally from Dallas, Texas and is a practitioner of Pilates. She’s also featured in this week’s Chargers Tailgate Times.

I have read that blonde firecracker Kortney, a former ChivaGirl, was also a USC Trojan Dance Force member…that makes three former Trojan co-eds on this Charger Girl squad.

Lindsay hails from Riverside, CA and her fifteen years of dancing has led her to the sidelines of San Diego.

Tamara, a graduate of the University of San Diego, was a former dancer for the ABA’s San Diego Wildcats.

Vanessa, a SDSU Aztec alumnus, aspires to be a teacher and is in her rookie season with the Charger Girls.

Tonya, a former Washington Redskins and Arizona Cardinals Cheerleader, owns a web development and graphic design business.

Marisa, a native of Minneapolis, Minnesota, is a current student at SDSU. Her father was a former NFL player who played on the same field that she performs today.

Jenny, one of my new favorite Charger girls, is originally from Taiwan. She’s an UC Irvine Anteater studying Biological Sciences and Education and aspires to be a dentist. ZOT!

Marlina is a third year Charger Girl and graduate of SDSU. A business owner, Marlina was recently featured in the 2008 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition.

Michelle is another third year Charger Girl and was a backup dancer for Gwen Stefani’s 2003 Super Bowl Halftime Show. She is currently a nursing student.

Diamond Bar, CA native Nicole L. is in her first year with the Charger Girls and is a real estate professional.

And our current Charger Girl of the Day, Breann is originally from Arizona and currently studies Biochemistry at the University of San Diego.

Well, it was a hot day in San Diego , but the Charger Girls were hotter. These sideline hotties should be commended for performing under such inhospitable conditions. I hope none of them suffered from dehydration or heat stroke…yes, it was that hot.
As for the Chargers…not so hot.
