Blue Monday…for Jets fans – NFL Week 3

Posted by David Allen Tyau at 8:00 AM ET

Seems like everyone wants a piece of the Chargers Girls these days. A few weeks ago, Max our Arizona Correspondent came to town to see what the hubbub was all about. Two weeks ago, Carolina Rick snuck into town and left with a Panther win as well as a few snaps of the renowned cheerleading squad. This week, our fearless publisher James made the trek all the way from Philadelphia to see for himself if there really is “more bounce in California”…that’s an inside joke of sorts for Charger Girls only.

Charger Girls

This is James, our fearless publisher and the person responsible for this great blog. Like Max and me, James is reluctant to be photographed; we would rather be behind the camera instead of in front of it. Cheer up James, the Charger Girls are about to take the field!

Regarding the game, Brett Favre and the New York Jets rolled into San Diego to square off against the 0-2 Chargers, fresh off of their controversial, last minute loss to the Denver Broncos. The Jets scored first on an interception returned for a touchdown, but then the Chargers surged ahead on a Nate Keading field goal and the first of three Philip Rivers touchdown passes. Erratic play by Brett Favre and two LaDainian Tomlinson touchdowns pretty much put the game safely out of reach of the Jets. Final score: 48 - 29, Bolts.

By the way, every time the Chargers scored a touchdown, the PA system blared the Soul Kid #1 song, More Bounce in California. That’s six times if you are counting and I am sure that by the end of the day, the Jets had heard enough. That’s too bad because the Charger Girls have a nice choreographed routine to go with the song.

This week, I stayed until the end of the game, so I we have photos of all the Line Captains for your viewing pleasure. Rebecca graduated summa cum laude from Arizona State University and is a former Arizona Rattlers Dance Team member.

Summer, one of my absolutely favorite Charger Girls to photograph, is a native Southern Californian and was the Charger’s Pro Bowl Cheerleader representative last year.

Constance is a third year Charger Girl and is a first year Line Captain. She comes from a family of die hard Charger fans and is a graduate of California State University, Long Beach .

Katrina, a third year Charger Girl and second year Line Captain, co-owns a dance studio and is currently a nursing student. She’s also a former member of the national dance team powerhouse Orange Coast College.

Okay, folks it’s time to introduce this week’s Charger Girl of The Day… New Mexico’s own Kylette.

Charger Girls

Kylette, a former Miss Teen Latina New Mexico, is a student studying Speech Pathology. Now she can add the title of CGOTD to her list of accomplishments. She’s a great dancer and her vivacious personality shines through her every dance move. And yes, she is one of my favorite Charger Girls to photograph.

Charger Girls

While we are on the topic of great dancers, veterans Ashlie, Ashley and Michelle dance up a storm on the sidelines.

Blonde bombshell Heather, originally from Templeton , California , aspires to be a photographer for National Geographic. I don’t know about travel photography, but I’m pretty sure I could teach her a thing or two about dance photography.

This week marks the debut of rookie Charger Girl Brittany to the sidelines of Qualcomm.

Marlina, Lindsay and Giselle graciously pose for the crowd in between Brett Favre interceptions.

Here’s a photo of rookie Charger Girl Jennifer. James and I watched her sizzle as she posed for fans at the Charger Girl calendar signing in the Budweiser Power Party. Yes, she’s very photogenic.

Charger Girls

And speaking of photogenic Charger Girls, the effervescent Jenny loves to flirt with the crowd between plays. You can tell she enjoys being a Charger Girl. She’s a pretty good dancer too!

Another terrific dancer is rookie Charger Girl Nicole L. She’s a triple threat: good looking, photogenic and a great dancer. To me, she kind of looks like Scarlett Johansson…a more physically fit Scarlett Johansson…not that ScarJo is fat…uh…I’d better stick to the Charger Girls. Yes, Nicole L. is a triple threat. See for yourself.

For Jet fans it must have been a blue Monday because the Charger took it to them, hard. I guess choking away two games in the last minute may make you a little testy because the Chargers were relentless in attacking the jolly green Jets. Well Jet fans, at least the weather was nice.
