Jacksonville Axe Maidens Debut

Posted by James at 3:00 AM ET

The Jacksonville Axemen Rugby League played their first home game of the season on Saturday, July 12 and introduced their newest addition to the team, the Axe Maidens.

The day started out with a torrential downpour but by game time the sun came out and it was a hot & beautiful day. The puddles on the field prevented the Axe Maidens from performing their halftime routine but they are well prepared for the next game which is this Saturday. They were welcomed by fans and posed for lots of pictures.

According to Darlene Clancy, Co-Director "It was the first time many of us attended a Rugby game so we didn't know what to expect, it was a lot of fun. The Axe Maidens kept on smiling despite the mud, the rain and the very long "run" to the locker-room. (Co-Director) Donna and I were really proud of their professionalism, dedication and hard work"
