Four-time Emmy award winning journalist Pamela Silva joins Univision 23’s and TeleFutura 69’s morning newscasts “Al Amanecer” (At Sunrise) as the newest member of the anchor team. Silva will share the anchor responsibilities with Emmy award-winning news anchors Eileen Cardet and Ivan Donoso during the 5 am to 7 am newscast on Univision 23 and during the newly launched 7 am to 8 am newscast on TeleFutura 69.

“We are thrilled to have someone with such dedication and professionalism join our growing newscasts,” said Luis Fernandez-Rocha, Univision 23 and TeleFutura 69 vice president and general manager. “She joins the number one Spanish-language newscast in South Florida and complements it well with her dynamic personality and love for news.”

As co-anchor Silva will also be presenting the weather segment and will continue to work on special feature and investigative reports.

“I am thrilled to be taking on this new professional challenge,” said Silva. “I look forward to sharing my experience with our morning team and contributing to the goal of journalistic excellence while informing and serving the South Florida community.”

Silva joined the Univision family in 2003. She joined the WLTV news team as the entertainment anchor and reporter in 2005. Prior to that she hosted “Noticias en Noventa,” TeleFutura 69’s first local news product and also served as the producer and reporter for the Univision 23’s public affairs show, “Miami Ahora.” She has also contributed to various Univision Network programs.

“We are happy to have someone with Pamela's versatility join our morning news team. News is her passion, and this will put her in it every morning,” said Emilio Marrero, Univision 23 news director.
