"Bellevue Doesn't Have the World's Greatest Morgue."

Posted by James at 9:42 AM ET

On the blog we've documented Cheerleaders and Dancers that are doctors, lawyers, reporters, service members, a couple of engineers and even a private investigator.

But here is our first Cheerleader/Funeral Director:

Tanya
Tanya (far right) is a licensed funeral director

Tanya is a former member of the FireDancers, the dance team for the AFL New York Dragons. She's also a graduate of Manhattan's American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service and works in the family business, Ortiz Funeral Homes

Tanya learned to embalm bodies at New York City's Bellevue Hospital. And in the most unusual and unlikley sentence I ever expected to hear while running this blog, she told me, "Bellevue doesn't have the world's greatest morgue."

Are you a Cheerleader/Dancer with an unusual occupation? We'd love to hear from you.

If you are wondering about the photo, it's from Sunday night at the New Jersey Nets Dancers Bootcamp. I hope to have more photos and a full report up in the next day or so.
