SUNY Buffalo grad plans to pursue MBA in near future

Erin, a fifth-year veteran of the Buffalo Bandettes, is a true leader on and off the field.

The Buffalo native is in her fourth season as team co-captain and always strives to better herself, her team and her community.

Erin spent 15 years dancing at a studio in her hometown. Her extensive training includes participating in numerous dance conventions and competitions. Erin continued her passion for dance throughout college. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance from the State University of New York at Buffalo and an Associates degree in Business Administration.

"I want to combine my love for dance and my background in business by opening my own dance studio," said Erin, who plans to pursue her MBA in the near future. She currently works in social services and teaches Hip Hop at a local studio.

Erin contributes more than leadership to her team. She regularly choreographs routines for game days and is highly involved in the Junior Bandettes program, teaching young girls the fundamentals of dance.

Outside of her role as a Bandette, Erin devotes countless hours to her community. She volunteered as a Goodwill Ambassador at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport, where she helped travelers by giving them information about the region.

"I offered advice about entertainment and restaurants. I met the coolest people doing that," Erin added. In addition, Erin volunteers for the local Special Olympics and the United Way, where she helped to paint an inner-city school cafeteria and build a playground at a town park. "It is so rewarding to help others and make a difference in the community."
