The Monsters were under pressure Saturday night at The Q.

They needed a victory against a team, Grand Rapids, that sits just in front of them in the standings. The stakes had been raised even further because of a loss to Grand Rapids on Friday.

They also needed to be sharp because, well, it's not every night hockey players get to flex in front of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders on home ice.

Along with bringing glitz and two snazzy routines, a select travel squad of 12 of the cheerleaders played the role of hockey ambassadors. Their presence factored heavily in 11,013 coming through the turnstiles.

Through their first 27 non-DCC home dates, the Monsters averaged 5,570.

They came, they saw, they cheered. The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders invaded The Q for Saturday's Monsters game, much to the enjoyment of 11,000-plus fans. The squad met with fans during two autograph sessions, and put on quite a show during two on-ice performances.
