Rockford’s Wendi Randall can’t quit now.

Even though her Indianapolis Colts didn’t earn a return trip to the Super Bowl, there’s incentive for her to remain a team cheerleader.

“I have to check out the new stadium!” she replied in an e-mail. “I am coming back for one more year.”

Randall, who graduated from Rockford East and was a Rockford Lightning dancer for six years, has been with the Colts for three seasons.

Indianapolis did not reach this season’s AFC Championship because San Diego upset the Colts in the RCA Dome’s final NFL game.

“It was sad when we lost, but I just think about how lucky we were last year that we got to go to the Super Bowl — and there is always next year,” said Randall, 27.

So, time to root for the Patriots, who represent the AFC, right?

“Now we just have to cheer on Eli at the Super Bowl,” she said of Colt QB Peyton Manning’s brother with the Giants.
