The first step was completed in the process to select the 2008 New Orleans VooDoo Dolls. The VooDoo held their preliminary auditions at the New Orleans Saints Indoor Practice Facility for the team's dance squad which brings high-energy performances and exciting dance routines to fans at home games.

In addition to providing a key element of in-game entertainment for VooDoo fans in the Arena on gameday, being a New Orleans VooDoo Doll is a full-time commitment. In addition to practicing two evenings a week on gameday routines, these young women also serve as goodwill ambassadors for the team, participating in various community, promotional and charitable events throughout the New Orleans and the Gulf South region.

Prospective VooDoo Dolls from all over the Gulf South Region registered for the open tryout which started at 10am. Following registration, the dancers were taught a two-minute routine in the first step of the audition process. They then performed this routine for the judges. Following the first round of competition, the ladies were taught an additional 45-second routine, which they subsequently performed for the judges. A final group of 30 potential VooDoo Dolls were selected following this tryout.

The finalists were presented during the Saints vs Buccaneers game on Sunday, December 2 at the Superdome. The date and location of final tryouts will be announced soon.
