As her love of all things trimmed in faux fur grew, her name went from Jennifer to Jennifur.

A former Atlanta Falcons cheerleader, Jennifer Cramer Overstreet is still often reminded of the nickname given to her by friends and cheerleading teammates. Although her pompoms are gone, she doubts she will ever let go of the 50-plus casual hats in her collection or those 40 or so cute jackets with some form of fur trim.

With the move from Atlanta to Knoxville last year with her husband, former NFL and University of Tennessee football player Will Overstreet, she managed to let go of some things for the sake of the move and her husband's sanity.

But it's rare for Jennifer Overstreet to purge things in her closet unless "a tragedy, like a shoe losing a heel, or something like that happens. I still have things from high school that I still love and wear."

After being dressed like her twin sister, Jamie, through elementary school growing up in Greenville, S.C., Overstreet said she found her own fashion focus in high school.

"I was wearing high heels with a fur jacket. I wanted my own style, and I didn't want to look like everyone else," she said.

The 28-year-old marketing and sales manager of The Commons at Knoxville still prides herself on creating a style of her own.

That's not to say her head is stuck in the clouds of designer couture. Instead, she hunts the racks of discount stores, looking for quality pieces at brag-about-it-later prices.

Overstreet lets us into her closet, faux fur and all:

What is the biggest surprise found in your closet?
Just how many things I have with fur or something of the sort on them.

What are the must-have items you carry in your purse at all times?
My camera (I love taking pictures and documenting everything), MAC powder (to cover up the freckles on my face) and lip gloss.

What do women and men not need any more of in their closets?
Women shouldn't have anything with shoulder pads, and men don't need any more T-shirts.

What is the one item you always receive compliments on?
Purses and shoes.

What would you go without if you saw something you really wanted to have in your wardrobe?
I would give up food (dinner out) in a heartbeat.

Do you prefer to go shopping or browsing?
I like shopping and going on the hunt for the best things at the best prices.

Do you read fashion magazines?
I don't look at magazines to get style ideas. I look at the styles of others to inspire me.

How important do you think it is to be fashionable?
I think having your own sense of fashion helps you feel good about yourself and elevates your self-esteem.

What do you think of body piercing?
They might be fine for everyone else, but not for me. I am fine with just having my ears pierced for earrings.

What fashions do you see today that you think will be out of style in the next two years?
Capri pants and pointy-toe shoes.

Name an outfit you've worn that makes you say, "What was I thinking?"
Probably when I was in high school and wore stirrup pants with a long vest.

What do you do when you are having a bad hair day?
Every two to three months, it seems, I am changing my hair color. I've been blond, red, dark auburn … I cut my hair myself, too.

What should every woman have in her closet?
Some creativity.
