The 2008 SoBe Adrenaline Rush Dancers were selected Saturday before more than 300 fans and a panel of celebrity judges at Excalibur Nightclub in Chicago.
Thirty-six finalists competed in front of judges including: Chicago Bears punter Brad Maynard and his wife, Karen; Rush assistant coach Bob McMillen; Rush player DeJuan Alfonzo; Erica and Julian from B96; and radio personalities Matt Dahl and Brendan Greeley.
After more than two hours of interviews and performances, 22 women were chosen to perform at Rush games and represent the team in the community.
The 2008 squad includes 10 veterans of the 2007 team and 12 rookies, including members with NBA, AFL, collegiate and various professional dance experience. Fans that attended were once again given an opportunity to get involved in the judging process by voting for their favorite finalists. After the ballots were counted, second-year SoBe Adrenaline Rush Dancer Jackie received the title of “Fan Favorite.”
“Saturday’s auditions were a great success and we had a tremendous amount of talent to choose from,” said Tanesha Wade, Rush director of operations. “The judges were terrific, the fan support was amazing and I look forward to the debut of the new squad at the 2008 home opener on March 3rd.”
