From this past week's Chargers Tailgate Times comes a Q&A with Charger Girl Summer accompanied by photos from our West Coast Photo Correspondent David Tyau.
Years on team:4
Hometown: Fountain Valley, CA
This is your fourth year on the squad. What brings you back year after year?
"The girls on the team bring me back. We have so much fun together. We do a lot of things outside of the scheduled practices and performances. Its fun being with these friends."
What is the best part about being a Charger Girl?
"Game days are the best part. We work really hard during the off season. It's a nice reward to be able to perform in front to the fans on game days."
What is your current career and what are your career goals?
"I manage a dental practice in Newport Beach. I also direct a children's competition dance team in the evening. My teammates Lizzy and Jill Ann work there as well. My aspirations are to own my own dance studio that provides a positive environment for children in the community."
What is your most memorable moment as a Charger Girl?
"My most memorable moment was definitely the playoff game last year. It was really exciting and the fans were really into the game the entire time."
If someone wants to be an NFL Cheerleader, what advice would you give to them to achieve their goal?
"My advice would be to never give up. Sometimes it takes a few auditions before you make it on the team. However, everything happens for a reason. Never give up. When you make the team, that's your time. You're supposed to be there."
What does it mean to you to be on this dance squad?
"It's an honor. The women they select for this team are all so phenomenal. They're so intelligent and have so many great qualities. It means a lot that e2k Sports and the Chargers think enough of me to let me be in this group."
What is is one interesting fact most people don't know about you?
"One of the girls on the team, Ashley W, is actually my cousin."
