OurSportsCentral: (Bakersfield, Calif., July 19, 2007) - The Bakersfield Jam, members of the NBA Development League, today announced the selections for the 2007-2008 Jam Dancers. The squad totals 12 women, including five from last year's team, and averages eight years of dance and cheer experience. Selections were based on ability, community experience, and personality.
"We are thrilled with this year's Jam Dancers and look forward to them playing a key role in the overall experience at our home games," says Michael Hirsch, Jam team president and general manager. "We already have quite a few events for them to appear and perform at and can't wait to show off Kern County's best dancers to the community."
The 12 members were selected from over 30 women who auditioned this past Sunday at Body Xchange Sports Club. Upcoming appearances for the Jam Dancers include the Philippine Weekend in Delano on July 28, NOR Recreation youth summer camp during week of August 6th, Barber Honda runway show on August 11, the Annual Summer Social hosted by Greater Bakersfield Chamber of Commerce on August 23, with more events to follow. Members of the team are as follows (last year's members are in italics): Ashlyne Amanonce (of Delano), Amanda Ayers (of Bakersfield), Ernesia Carter (of Bakersfield), Milyssa Collazo (Bakersfield), Vivonne Wade-Greene (Bakersfield), Christine Hernandez (Bakersfield), Remi Konno (Tokyo, Japan), Kalina Lascina (Delano), Christine Martinez (Bakersfield), Kayla Penalosa (Delano), Courtney Robins (Bakersfield), Claudia Rodriguez (Bakersfield), and Vanessa Vieta (of Bakersfield).
