Director of the Houston Texans Cheerleaders Alto Gary. Alto is the only Cheerleading Director the Texans have ever had.
In 2001 Alto selected the first squad, a year before the team was to begin playing. With no players on the roster, the Cheerleaders were the face of the team. Because of the unique circumstances, the first Texans Cheerleaders squad lasted from 2001-03. The Cheerleaders did not have to try out again in 2002.
[FYI, the photo below? That's Larisa. Neener neener -- sasha]
In the past the Texans Cheerleaders have performed for a couple of pre-game shows, but this year. you'll want to get to Reliant Stadium early, because Alto tells us the ladies will be performing on the field before every home game.
The Cheerleaders just spent a month in front of the camera, shooting photos for the website, poster and for the first time ever a swimsuit calendar.
Alto describes herself as an emotional dancer. She says "Dance is the interpretation of language" and that every dance tells a story. Her squad dances "Big", because after all, everything is bigger in Texas.
