P.R.O. Convention: What is it All About

Posted by James at 12:40 AM ET

Okay, you've seen some of the photos I took over the weekend in Atlanta, but what exactly was going on?

Tracey Rutledge started AllPro3 and the P.R.O. Convention. Drawing on her years of experience with amateur, collegiate and pro teams, including the East Carolina Dance team and the Atlanta Hawks Dance Team, she had a vision of bringing the top Directors and Choreographers from the NFL, NBA, the Arena leagues, Hockey and more together under one roof.

Texans Cheerleader Director Alto Gary explained why she keeps coming back to P.R.O in two words "Usable Choreography." She says she will come home from P.R.O. with 17 new routines that will cover her for the majority of the season. Because her fans and ownership are a little more conservative she can tweak the routines a bit and tone it down. Other teams can spice it up.

There was something for everybody and every team. Stacie Kinder taught a country routine; Donald Wells did Field Jazz. And then there was the camera-lens-melting creation of the Ft. Worth Flyers Tamara Jenkins that had to be seen to be believed.

This is Stephanie's 4th P.R.O. Convention. She says it's wonderful how all the teams come here to learn from each other. Back when she first started with the NBA Wizards, teams simply did not share.
