Countdown to P.R.O. Convention: 19 Days

There's so much more to
being an NFL Cheerleader Coordinator

Besides keeping the team up to date with the hottest looks and freshest fashions? Besides keeping the fans entertained and excited? Add the role of international ambassador to the NFL.

Sandy Charboneau saw the challenge and took the Tampa Bay Buccaneer Cheerleaders places they had never been. Turkey and Uzbekistan!

Having been associated with the Tampa Bay Buccaneer's for over ten years, Sandy organized the cheerleader’s first ever overseas tour. Now in her 6th year as coordinator/choreographer, Sandy enjoys this different aspect of her career.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneer Cheerleaders are one of the most widely known and well respected organizations at home and abroad, making appearances on television and in print constantly. On their first ever overseas trip the squad traveled on a USO military tour for three weeks in support of U.S troops.

As a red blooded American football fan...I can tell you... the impressive community outreach component of the NFL's cheerleaders makes the image of these beautiful ladies as representatives of America abroad a pleasing idea.

The pretty lady with the French last name is originally from Connecticut but spent most of her life in Tampa. She attended United States International University in San Diego on a full ballet scholarship before transferring to the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre in New York City, again on a full scholarship.

Having served as a team captain for several years, leading the team on an international trip had special significance for Sandy. "It's such an honor to represent America overseas…and with that honor comes so much responsibility".

Spreading the NFL's image abroad was like talking a walk around the block for Sandy, who after making many community and corporate appearances for the squad now schedules them! Sandy explains, "My girls make over 300 public appearances a year."

Of course...being in the public eye can be challenging. Sometimes it must seem as if everyone is watching and waiting for scandal...it's just the nature of people. So keeping and maintaining a good reputation is obviously very important on this level. "I'm so proud of my girls", she says. Sandy also believes the NFL Cheerleader’s program is growing and expanding and will continue to do great things.

We are proud to have Sandy as one of our guest instructors at the P.R.O Convention this summer. Come see for yourself how fabulous she is by attending the convention.

See you in Atlanta!
